A classmate of Brenda's is murdered on Halloween night, prompting hack TV reporter Gail Hailstorm to interview the class. Cindy Campbell, one of Brenda's friends, realizes their classmate died one year after the group accidentally killed a man and dumped his body off the pier.
One by one, the friends are targeted by the ominous Ghostface, who warns they know what the group did. Greg, Buffy, and Gail's cameraman Kenny are killed in the following days. Brenda and her boyfriend Ray see a movie together, though he sneaks off the bathroom. Brenda talks throughout the film, ruining the plot of it and several others, annoying the moviegoers. Ghostface plans to kill her, but the moviegoers steal his knife and lash out at Brenda by stabbing her. Brenda falls to the ground, much to the audience's relief.
Scary Movie 2[]
Brenda survives her previous attack by the moviegoers and goes to college with Cindy. She also rekindles her relationship with Ray. Brenda's professor Oldman promises her a positive grade if she stays the night at Hell House. He tells her it's for an insomnia project, hiding its supernatural horrors from her and her friends. Brenda, along with Cindy, Ray, Shorty, Buddy, Alex, and Theo, head to Hell House for the night. They quickly become targets of the supernatural spirits haunting the place, and decide to partner with Dwight, Oldman's assistant. Brenda opposes splitting up, and when is upset when all the Black characters are left alone. She believes this seals her fate of dying. Because they split up, the ghosts kill them much faster. Brenda even cheers on the killer when Cindy is running from a monster, which turns out to be a skeleton, who they escape.
The house's caretaker Hanson is possessed by Hugh Krane, the former owner of the house. He kidnaps Shorty and locks him in the cellar. Cindy, Brenda, and Theo fight him using their advanced fighting skills, but lose. Dwight later regroups with the survivors. Cindy decides to offer herself up as bait to lure Kane's spirit into a device that, ultimately, traps his spirit and frees them from the house's curse.

Scary Movie:
- Ghostface tries to stab Brenda in the movie theater, but survives his attack when the moviegoers steal his blade.
- Several audience members were enraged by Brenda spoiling their movies and stabbed her repeatedly. She miraculously survives her injuries.

- Despite having a major role in the first four films, Brenda is only featured on the poster for Scary Movie 4.
- Scary Movie is known for parodying successful horror films. The character of "Brenda Meeks" is based on Maureen Evans from Scream 2 and Martha Meeks from Scream 3.
- In 2023, Brenda was featured in the Final Girls Trading Cards deck for Fandom's Final Girls on the Final Day of Women's History Month.
